QUANTACT is not only a story of music but, above all, a story of friendship. The quartet was born in 2018 in the context of an artistic residency offered by the AMR association in Geneva, which allowed Lausanne-based double bassist Cédric Gysler to compose new original music and to bring together on stage the group that would perform it, thus creating the QUANTACT quartet.

 

For this line-up, Gysler called around him musicians with whom he has been collaborating for many years: saxophonist Manu Gesseney, pianist Gabriele Pezzoli and drummer Francesco Miccolis.

The album 'Survenir' was recorded in September 2022 in the RSI studios in Lugano, is co-produced by Rete Due and released in 2023 by the record label Altrisuoni/PBR, which celebrates its its 30th anniversary this year.

 

The result of this collaboration between musicians from French- and Italian-speaking regions of Switzerland is a music about risk and trust. About mystery and poetry. About open boundaries between established structures and freedom.
