Born as a spin-off of the BLUE 2147 musicians' collective, R:ED represents the most electronic side of Gabriele Pezzoli musical activity. R:ED released the Ep «Backdrop» in 2019, a musical journey dedicated to the sea leaving plenty of room for improvisation, sound textures and action sounding.

Thanks to a collaboration with Swiss National Radio «Rete Due» R:ED had the opportunity to work on an extended live version of their music, which was performed and live-broadcasted at the «Festival di Musica e Cultura Jazz di Chiasso» in March 2022, featuring Swiss bassist Francesco Rezzonico and legendary Norwegian trumpet player and pioneer of Electro-Jazz Nils Petter Molvær.
