Playing piano solo is one of the most stimulating, free and challenging experiences. The dialogue between the instrument, the surrounding space and the audience is unique and special each time.

In his approach to the piano solo, Gabriele Pezzoli likes to explore the harmonic and sound potential of the piano. Tunes emerge from few notes and can evolve into striking, ample soundscapes, leaving ample space to spontaneity and improvisation. The accessory use of prepared piano techniques and live electronics elements further enriches the sound and expressive landscape.

As a result of a journey of instant composition and improvisation, the solo piano album Like Eyes gets a 5/5 mention from the Swiss trade magazine Jazz n'More.

«Between jazz and classical, in a lyrical and evocative world: Pezzoli happily lives there.”

Azione, Switzerland

“Gabriele Pezzoli knows how important each individual note is. He pays homage to the omission of everything superfluous and the associated focus on the simplicity of the pieces. They grow to such a powerful size precisely because they raise from the time they fade away.”

Jazz ‘n More, Switzerland

“The result is a calm but at the same time intense music, dreamlike but also cerebral, apparently simple but which, upon closer listening, reveals all its complex and articulated sound architecture.”

Corriere del Ticino, Switzerland

“He throws the listeners back to the possibility of their own actions when listening to music, namely to actively behave towards what they hear. Something that has been withheld from the public for far too long!”
